The weekly worship services are at the centre of our activity as church. In worship we meet with God to sing his praises, talk with him in prayer, confess our sin, receive the assurance of gospel forgiveness, read the Bible, hear it preached, participate in the sacraments of baptism and the Lord’s supper, profess our faith, and receive his blessing. For more details about our worship and answers to many common questions, please visit our Sunday Worship page.
Our members meet regularly with one another in smaller groups to further study God’s word and its application to the Christian life. These groups are important also for the fun that we have socializing and building relationships with one another as we strengthen the bonds of fellowship that we have in Jesus. For a list of fellowship groups within our church, please visit our Fellowship Groups page.
An important part of the church’s calling in this world is to make disciples (Matt 28:18-20). This takes on many forms in the life of the church, both spontaneous and planned. Members disciple one another in conversation and doing things together. Sunday school is offered for the young children of the church. For those who are older and seek to be instructed in the doctrines of the Christian faith we have two main courses of study. Catechism classes are taught by our pastor for the older children of the church in the middle and high school ages. For those who are new to the faith and desiring to grow in their commitment to Christ and his church, our pastor leads a personalized new member’s class. For more details about these programs, please visit our Discipleship page.
Jesus said that people will know we are Christians by our love for one another (John 13:35). We hope that you will see this in the way we serve one another within the church, but we realize that we are called to love and serve those who are outside of the church as well – to do good to all people. In this way, our message of the good news of salvation in Jesus will gain a hearing with those who need to hear it. We seek to reach out to our community in various ways. For more information on what we do in this respect, please visit our Community page.
