Because the congregation is the temple of the Holy Spirit, we should avoid all intentional lying and deceit in the congregation. (Acts 5:3-4)

Rev. D. Moes, June 21, 2015
Part of the Belgic Confession series, preached at a Sunday Afternoon service

Acts 5:3-4

3But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land? 4Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God. (KJV)

Earlier: Same day: Later:
« Because the eternal Father of the Lord Jesus Christ loves us, he calls us to repent from our unfaithfulness and promises to restore us. When our lives outside the worship service are not in harmony with our lives inside the worship service, we should not deceive ourselves that God will not come in judgment on our lives. When we ask the eternal Father of our Lord Jesus Christ in our prayers why he is not present in our suffering, we will notice that he is present in our suffering. »
