Songs of Salvation

Why do we sing? To express our feelings, one of which is joy. God’s people sing to celebrate the salvation that he has won for us, and so songs are an essential part of God’s revelation to us in Scripture. God’s Old Covenant people (Israel) celebrated his continued deliverance and protection, and God’s New Covenant people (the church) are called to rejoice with singing to our great and glorious God and Savior!
